About

Squish was given to me as an early Christmas present in 2008 from Kya. It was really funny actually. Her and I were discussing awesome domain names one day and I happened to mention how much I love .nus and always dreamt of having one. Eventually, through our chat, I came up with Squish.nu and was instantly in love. It's something I say a lot (*squish*) and have said for years (I actually went back to one of my first LiveJournal entries from 2005 and I said it). So the next day we were chatting again and I told her about it. I also slipped and mentioned that I was absolutely terrified of it getting registered before I had the money.

I think she felt bad for me because about an hour later she asked if I would be okay with her buying it for me. After being speechless, crying a little bit and practically screaming (I couldn't as it was about 2 a.m. at the time), I told her I would be more than okay with it. She decided she also wanted to host it for me on her new hosting site, Bubble.nu, her newest .nu at the time. So Squish was born and I was the first person to be hosted by Bubble!

The original idea of the site was for fanlistings and a portfolio, but, until I get another domain I'm dreaming of, it will also house my writing collective. In the future, I plan to have all three separated and have all my fanlistings here.

The Current Layout

This layout was actually inspired by Kya and the way she usually has her layouts set up with the fun header and footer. I took that idea, totally tore it up and made it my own and ended up with this! I chose cupcakes for my "squished" product this time because I had recently made some and could smell them. I was going to do a lump of poo, but I couldn't get it to come out how I wanted. I drew everything, including the words, completely by hand on Photoshop and it took me probably an hour to put together. The coding, however, has taken me many days and probably weeks to get how I wanted.
